Kristin Lawrence

Kristin Lawrence is an attorney licensed to practice in the State of Texas and before the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Texas, Southern District of Texas, Eastern District of Texas and Western District of Texas. She resides in Garland and is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Garland Bar Association.

Growing up as the daughter of a career Air Force officer, Kristin experienced life and education in a multitude of states within the continental United States, as well as Germany and Hawaii. The traveling life of an Air Force officer’s family allowed Kristin to encounter the beauty of many different cultures. Prior to attending high school, Kristin’s family settled in Garland. She was able to attend and graduate with honors from South Garland High School.

Kristin attended Texas A&M University – Commerce, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in three years. She continued her education in Commerce as she began working toward her Master of Business Administration degree. Since she had not completed her MBA when she was accepted into the law program at Texas Wesleyan University, she worked on the two degrees concurrently until both were completed.

Upon graduating, Kristin utilized her business education while working at an accounting firm, where she prepared individual and corporate tax returns as well as assuming various bookkeeping responsibilities. Not one to be idle with her time, she also worked part-time in the accounting departments of several retail businesses. Kristin progressed into the law arena while working first in a family law firm and then in an estate planning and probate firm. Despite the fact that Kristin assisted lead counsel in the courtroom and is familiar with the proceedings and litigation involved with divorce and child custody cases, she currently prefers to concentrate on more transactional legal matters. She has extensive experience preparing and probating wills. She is also well versed in more advanced estate planning and asset protection tools, such as living trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts (ILITs), and family limited partnerships (FLPs). Kristin finds pleasure in her ability to combine her business and legal education for the clientele in her community. Presently, Kristin focuses much of her attention on the commercial loan documents she drafts for local banking institutions.

Maintaining a close relationship with her family, Kristin spends quality time with her parents. She is often found on the golf course at Eastern Hill Country Club with her father. She and her mother enjoy renovating and decorating. Most recently, this hobby has been on a miniature scale as they build and furnish doll houses. Kristin takes pleasure in her active participation in the music programs at her church. She is a regular participant in large choir and small ensemble singing groups in addition to playing handbells. She is fond of traveling and routinely spends her leisure time with her dogs, all of which have been rescued from unfortunate living situations.
